In a down market, potential sellers are attracted to agents who have a positive mindset.

I wrote about this a while back in an Agent Advice guide that is worth re-visiting if you are struggling to maintain your positive energy in the current environment:

To succeed in real estate, embrace a positive mindset
if you want to grow (or maintain) your business and become a magnet for referrals, it’s so important that all your interactions with members of the public are positive.

Sellers want to list with the salesperson who believes that the market is starting to improve. I would argue that it's essential to maintain this outlook at all times, because at some point you will be proven right. It's simply a matter of time. You might as well stay positive and attract a whole lot of great business while you are waiting!

Using positivity to generate listings

Once you have embraced a positive mindset, it's time to share that outlook with the world to start bringing in listings.

Step 1. Send a printed newsletter to all your past clients and past appraisals to let them know the market is changing. Scroll down for a template.

Step 2. Use the same template text in your next email newsletter to share the same message.

Step 3. While you are at it, drop your 'market is changing' update letter around your farming area.

Step 4. Heck, now we're on a roll. Hand out copies of your newsletter at your open homes / attach it to all property flyers.
